City Kids Multimedia Arts Production Company
CITYKIDS Production is committed to helping urban youth discover their potential power and value, and what better way then to allow them the opportunity to be part of making substantial contributions to the communication medium of film and television, a powerful medium that effects every aspect of their young lives. The effect that this medium has on their self-esteem and self worth cannot be underestimated. City Kids allows youth to have a voice however small, in the way they are (affected) depicted by this powerful form of communication.
Production Team Categories
Working in teams not only helps with programming, but becomes an important ingredient in the development of our youth. They'll eventually leave our program with skills that allow them to work collaboratively in group settings. Having these skills has become a more sought after quality in the corporate sector.
Technical teams consisted of:
- Directing
- Camera

Non-technical teams consisted of:
- Talent

- Wardrobe
- Journalist
- Writers
- Reporters
When a young person's effort culminates in a production, they have a chance to experience meaningful
public affirmation, in their own eyes they become every bit as important as anybody who succeeds. This experience can be particularly potent for young urban city kids whose lives are primarily characterized by feelings of worthlessness and failure and whose role models often come from the hip hop and rap culture which often depicts exploitative images. The following Productions and programming will take place:
Youth Talk Show
The format of this program would be in the style of a talk show where a youth host would invite guests to appear on the show and discuss various social issues. The show would consist of a youth host, an audience (mainly youth), possibly a DJ or a youth band.
Youth News Cast (IDEA News)
This would be a newscast in which newsworthy stories from the Camden City area are reported via youth TV anchor personalities. Ideally, there would be a heavy influence on reporting many of the good things that are taking place in the city. The telecast would also include more in depth stories that would take a higher level of journalism and production to complete.
A Fictional Soap Opera
Many of the students we work with have voiced a desire to put together their own stories in the form of an ongoing soap opera.
